Come be our new friend!

The Advocates Empowered Community is an online network for disabled and neurodivergent humans, with a focus on those at the intersection of LGBTQIA+, BIPOC, and other marginalized identities.

Here, you’ll find monthly support groups, a body-doubling virtual room, weekly book club gatherings, local meetups, game nights, open chat spaces, and resources to support your self-advocacy. This is a place to build real relationships, share experiences, and find practical support in your day-to-day life.

Meet your host

Kris Joy (they / he)

Traveling across the United States in their campervan, Kris is building community wherever they go by hosting local meetups where people can share their stories, make friends, and feel seen. Born and raised in Nairobi, Kenya, they’ve spent much of their life exploring what home, belonging, and identity truly mean. Today, they partner with organizations to create spaces where all brains, bodies, and backgrounds can thrive.

The AE Community grew from that same vision - a desire to make connection more accessible, intentional, and grounded in action. It’s a free, global space where disabled, neurodivergent, and marginalized humans can make friends and practice self-advocacy in safety and solidarity.
